How to make a fan an Admin on a Facebook Fan Page that is not on your friend list and you don't have their email adress

This is a question I had but couldn't find an answer on Google so I decided to find the solution and post a blog about it:

How can I make a fan(member) of a Facebook fan page, an administrator on Facebook without having them on my friend list and without knowing their email address?
The URL below can be used to view all members of a fan page. This URL is not presented anywhere obvious on fan pages any longer but it's one that becomes visible when notifications of new "likes" are presented on your fan page.

http://www.facebook.com/browse/page_fans/?page_id=329814337062047

The number you see in the above address is a unique ID for each fan page, so you need to find this unique number for your own fan page. So to find out what the ID of your fan page is, go to your Facebook fan page then click the "Edit Page" button(this button will only be visible if you are an administrator of that page). Now look in the URL and you will see something like:

https://www.facebook.com/pages/edit/?id=329814337062047

The number in the above URL (use your fan page's number number) is what you need to copy and paste into the URL below to view all members of a fan page:

So all you have to do is replace the number which is presented in front of "page_id=" with that of your own fan page. Now press "Enter" and you will see a list of all members with a "Make Admin" button next to each name. Pressing this button will take you to a new page and ask for your password. Once you enter your password and press "ok", the new admin will be visible.

Make someone a Facebook Fan Page Admin with Email Address
To make someone an admin on a facebook fan page, if you have their email address you can enter their email address after browsing to "Edit Page" > "Manage Admins" and pressing save to make the changes permanent. (You will be asked for your password for security reasons)

Make someone a Facebook Fan Page Admin if they are your friend
The third approach is if the person is on your friend list, in which case you browse to "Edit Page" > "Manage Admins" and type in their name. You will see their profile name and photo popup. So you can select the user then press "Save" to make the changes permanent. (You will be asked for your password for security reasons)

  2. Just tried this, and it works but it only shows me the most recent members who have liked my page, about 100 I'd guess - is there another way to view ALL members on my page?
    Thanks :)

    1. Currently I don't know of any other way but i will look into this. The old Facebook interface would allow you to do this. So all we need to do is find the correct url address to the old page ;)

    2. The solution to this is to go the URL below

      http://www.facebook.com/browse/page_fans/?page_id=329814337062047

but replace the number with the id of your page. Once you scroll to the bottom of the page, it will automatically load more and more users until all members of your fan page are visible.

  3. Hi, I'm having serious problems adding another user as an admin. Nothing works. I use the page with my personal profile (am admin) or as the page. I use the "recent likes" --> "Make Admin", I use the email way, I even friended the person and typed the name. I also tried another liker. The empty new admin does not fill whetever I do. When I apply I'm being prompted for my password, but nothing happens. I tried with Firefox and Chrome. When using your method above I get "The server found your request confusing and isn't sure how to proceed." Nothing seems to allow me to add another admin to the page. Any clue?

    Regards

  4. Great - just after two hours trying - and posting the previous comment - it worked. Don't ask me why - maybe because I switched to English (US) as interface language...

  5. I have a similar problem to those above. I have 14 people that I want to like my page. Once I make them all "Admin" I will lock the page down so only the 15 of us can use it. So far they have all "liked" the page and I Have managed to make 4 of us "admin" but when I go to likes, "make admin", after I put in my password it says that it cant add them as Admin as they have to be a friend or like the page. They have already liked the page. Any ideas?

    1. I have never experienced this. Maybe it takes some time for facebook to recognize that they have liked the page.

  6. i also have setup a facebook business page, a stand alone page that was never linked or associated to any personal profile and used its own private email and details...

I also have same problem as other people here, the chosen admin has liked the page so has my personal account, and the add manager feature of admin page does no populate with any of the people that liked the page, and i did use my own page id tocheck this and i already know the chosen and me have liked the page.

I also messaged the page from my personal account to see if that triggered it to let me make myself admin but it didnt.

My conclusion is that Facebook is broken or Facebook takes time to populate the part of your pages database with people who have liked it.

    1. The admin of the page has to be "friends" with your facebook profile in order to be able to see it.

Try entering the email address that you used to open your personal profile in the box for admin a new admin.

  8. great man..it worked for me in easy way...I was wondering if this procedure is illegal or not? Then it's really strange that facebook has this link active but it's not present somewhere in the page setting?! isn't?

    1. Yes, indeed. That is why I wrote this page because it doesn't exist anywhere obvious. As long as it is there then we can use it ;)
